After reading the story, Cat Tale, by Michael Hall, first grade students created painted paper in secondary colors. Red and yellow were mixed to create orange, blue and yellow were mixed to create green, and blue and red were mixed to make violet. Once dry, these painted papers were cut into shapes to create collage cats. The background details were finished with crayons.

Miss Requarth's Class and QR codes in the NEWS!!!
Miss Requarth has been trying QR codes to make finding information about your studnet's artwork easier! You may start to find QR codes on the back of your student's art projects. Using a QR code reader (many free apps for Apple and Android exist) you can use your smart phone to navigate directly to a specific project page. What is a QR code and what do I do with it? A QR code is kind of a like a bar code but it is square and looks a little bit like a crazy maze. These squares can hold various types of information. In this instance, they store webpage addresses from my website that are specific to the project on which the QR code sticker was found. It skips the step of typing in a long web address. To use a QR code, a QR code reader is required. Many are free apps that are available on most smart phones and tablets. The app uses the smart phone's camera to scan the QR code and directly open the specific web page.
Do I have to use the QR code? Absolutely not! The same information can be found on my website by navigating through the faculty/staff pages on the Cassens, Goshen, Midway, Hamel, Worden, and Leclaire school websites. Each project can be found both ways, and the information is identical.
